I have worked on the creative and technical aspects of online media and software for the past 16 years. As a former professor, I taught media production, UX design and front-end development while working in the entertainment industry for Lions Gate Films, Sony Online Entertainment and other large-scale corporate branding projects. I currently combine those skills to bring user-centered practices to online education for K-12 students, teachers, and administrators.
My love of art and technology began early through music and had the opportunity to record an album at the Disney Studios in Burbank, CA when I was 17. That set me on a trajectory of learning interdisciplinary media through coding, engineering, art and music. While attending UC, San Diego, I studied Max-MSP with Miller Puckette (creator of Ableton Live’s Max-MSP engine). I also worked in the music industry doing visual design for marketing while also helping assist on the audio-engineering side (recording, mixing, composing). That led me to contribute on projects for film, tv and installation work. I also wrote and produced original music and enjoy experimenting with digital audio, outboard hardware and midi controllers for recorded and live performance. Product design has been a natural extension of my passion for technology and lately I’ve really enjoyed diving into OpenAi’s capabilities for similarly connecting software and hardware.
In addition, I’m a mom to a 14 year old son, Liam, and we have a very chill cat, Gary. We love being outdoors all year and exploring the Pacific Northwest. In the summer, I’m in the water as much as possible or getting out to a lake to paddle-board. Year-round, I also love experimenting with Midjourney Ai image generation, hand-lettering in Procreate and playing piano.
